Wing Rib Gusset Problems

When applying the gussets to this rib, I allowed myself to get distracted, and forgot to apply some of the staples that hold them together while the glue is drying. I was able to pry a couple of them off so that I could re-glue them, but some of them wouldn't come off, so I guess they're pretty well bonded (even without the staples)! Here you can see that, even though the gussets came off, they took some of the rib with them, so I guess this ended up being an inadvertent glue strength test! (You can also see how some of the gussets didn't stay properly aligned while drying, which is the other reason for the staples.)

Also, fellow EAA Chapter 1300 member Dave Wiseman came over to check out the project. He's thinking about starting a Maranda project, so he wanted to see the quality of the plans and manuals. I think I might have convinced him to try a Corvair conversion, as well!
