This is the standard battery that everyone seems to be using. It is an Odyssey PC680. I wanted to mount it close to the engine so that the starter cables could stay relatively short. I also wanted to mount it inside the cabin (if possible) so that the heat from the engine compartment wouldn't kill it prematurely. It turns out that it fit pretty well on the floor of the cabin, just behind the firewall, between the passenger's rudder pedals. I don't think it will interfere with the passenger's rudder pedals, though. I had to make a shim for the battery to sit on because the floor slopes downward slightly from the firewall back. I made the bracket that holds it from .025 aluminum. I'm also having fun with the rivet squeezer that I got at our EAA Chapter's silent auction a couple of weeks ago.
